Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club Meal Program

The first Thursday of every month during the school year, volunteers from Southminster provide a meal for 30 to 50 children at the Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club on Marietta Street.  For some of these children, it’s the last meal they’ll get before going to school the next morning.

Volunteers can serve in several ways: cook a simple meal (hot dogs, chips, and cookies), help in getting the food to the Boys & Girls Club, arrive at 5:15 to set up and serve the food to the children, donate money to assist in the purchasing of the food. The meal costs as little at $45, and the serving time to the children takes approximately 45 minutes.
